Faux painting textured walls?

i hand troweled my walls and ceilings and it looks great, i then painted walls with almost a caramel color and now i feel like it is a little too dark, can i do some type of faux in like a cream color to tone it down?Faux painting textured walls?
try a color washing technique!

1. Get a large shallow pan, some rags, latex gloves and a bucket of cool clean water.

2. Buy a lighter version of the caramel color

3. Mix three parts paint to one part water for the topcoat.

4. Dip the rag into the mixture. Ring it out well, and then start washing it onto the walls. Use large random circles and work from top to bottom, and left to right. (Make sure that you step back from the wall every so often, so you can see where you need more paint or blending.) When your cloth gets too saturated rinse it off and wring it out really well or switch to another one.

5. To soften the look, use a clean damp rag to blend the paint more before it dries.Faux painting textured walls?
You certainly CAN sponge a lighter color on top of the caramel. If you need to really lighten it up, you can do two lighter colors. I did this same thing in my previous bedroom. You'll want a small bit of the original color to balance any places that get too light. I had three colors and three sponges going at one time, so I could blend to my liking.
I had the same problem with a bathroom, the color I chose turned out much darker on the wall than in the can.

I picked up a can of a lighter shade and used a large sponge to dab it over the darker color. It was very simple and came out nice.
