Playing off of what the first person answered. What type of faux painting? You want enamel.. enamel just means a hard surface. You could do either latex enamel or oil enamel.
Latex enamel faux is more popular and easier. You would add a glaze to your paint to make it translusecent and to also slow down the drying time. This lets you have more time to ';play'; with it before it dries and you can't work with it anymore.
Find out what type of look you want and then ask me. I'll hook you up :)
BTW, after your faux technique is done, you'll want to put a water based polyurethane on the floor to protect it.Faux painting over flat paint on wooden floors, plywood ?
You don't say what type of faux, but you will have to repaint with a satin or eggshell base. Faux won't work well over flat.
What type of ';faux painting'; do you want to do? wood graining? marble? some other kind of stone?
Be more specific and I will try to help.
